This is Anniston. The friendly mouse.
The micies, just hanging out together.

Heidi chilling in the toilet paper tube. Ps- if you ever have any of these that you don't need, feel free to give them to me.... I can never have enough!
Oh my gosh, I JUST packed all their food for the next month. You see, I give them fresh food every other day. And I fill these things up every once in a while. I used to only have a weeks worth of containers, but today I got another pack of them (thank God... they don't have any more and I got the last pack of 5 and another pack with just tops and one container which I needed desperately because my other tops for my treats went MIA) at the Dollar Tree. I cannot find them anywhere else. They are the perfect size and they are so colorful. I just love them. Anyways, I have to make sure that my mice have a balanced, yet varying diet. So I fill up half the container with food, then I put in 5 types of treats. It's a really complicated process. I am so picky about what my mice eat. When we get our organic veggies from our shared crop thing in the spring, summer, and fall... I like to put them on an all organic diet of beans and other small snippets of organic stuff to supplement their treat intake, but once we stop getting the organic stuff, they have to eat the packaged stuff. Too bad they can't be all organic all the time. They really love the green beans and lettuce fresh from the farm. Anniston especially loves the yellow beans. They sorta look like green beans, except they are yellow. Yellow beans?!
It's kinda sad to think about the fact that my mice have a better life than some people in the world, but I just can't stand to think of feeding my mice anything different. I mean, I want them to have the best possible life. Oh did I mention that when I was at the pet store today I spent $35 on mice stuff. Gah, I need a life. I was born to be a mother. But in my defense I had to get them more bedding (yeah they've been using the same bag of bedding since October. Wow, one bag lasts a long time. And they actually aren't even done with it, I just figured I should go ahead and get it while I was at the store. But the bag only costed like $8. And I mean it lasts like 3 months. So I don't feel like it's really that much. But I do always go over on their treats. I had to refill up on like 4 out of 5 of their treats. A little ridiculous, I know. Oh and I had to get them more food, and then the wonderful pet store worker (Tara, she is so sweet and she has been working at our local pet store since I can remember... which is like 7+ years) asked me if I needed any more chew sticks. And I got them some when I first got them, but they didn't really chew on them. Instead they just peed on them. So I figured they didn't like them. But she showed me the kind she gets her rats. So I picked up a pack of those. Put one of the variety pack pieces in the cage with them.... THEY WENT CRAZY. I was so happy I got the chew sticks. They looked tickled to chew on them. It made me feel good.
Oh the reason why I even got my mice was because I didn't want them to get eaten by snakes. I'm such a freak. Like seriously, there are like BILLIONS of mice in the world and somehow I feel like getting two will help. Oh well. I love them. I mean, it's two mice that didn't get eaten. right?
I want ferrets though. So I figure if I can keep two mice alive for their 2 year life spans, I can manage two ferrets. I held one at the pet store today. I have a slight obsession with them. I am just counting down the days when I can obtain my own. I need to start thinking of names for them. I don't know if I want a girl and a boy, two girls, or two boys. I guess I'll have to wait and see what Pet Care Warehouse has when I'm ready to purchase. They have the best ferrets. Swear. They have Marshall Ferrets. Which are the best kind. They are spayed/neutered before they are shipped, de-scented, socialized at a young aged, and checked for diseases. And they are babies when they are shipped. They are basically like pure bred ferrets with good backgrounds. They don't have as many health problems as other ferrets purchased at other stores. And they are super sweet. Oh and the common misconception that ferrets are evil, stinky, and bite everything is wrong. You are supposed to clean their cage daily. Not every other day, not once a week... NO! It's once a day. Morons who don't do that are liars. HA. ok so they probably aren't liars, someone probably just gave them wrong care instructions. GRR. My ferrets are going to have clean cages. And fresh food every other day like they are suppose to have. And 4 hours of human play each day. They are soo cute. And I am going to get them the best cage. With a lock and key of course (ferrets are very sneaky and slinky and can figure out how to undo a cage without a lock.... the sneaky part of ferrets is true). Gah I want a ferret sooo sooo desperately bad. I cannot wait till I can get them little ferret sweaters and play with them. Ok. That's all the rambling I have for now.
